Description

Cherry blossoms are striking in full bloom, yet each flower is quiet and fleeting. The Floating Sakura Matcha Whisk Holder reflects that quality in an understated way, capturing the moment just as petals begin to fall. The scattered blossoms, set against open space, create a composed and restrained impression. It brings a subtle sense of Japanese beauty to tea ceremonies and everyday moments alike.

This matcha whisk holder is crafted by Tosen Kiln, a longstanding Kyo ware kiln in Kyoto. It is a tool for maintaining the shape of a chasen, or matcha whisk, while it dries, preserving its durability and longevity. Once your whisk has dried, return it to its original container for best results.

Created as an original for MUSUBI KILN, this matcha whisk holder is available in two colorways: tokiiro pink and usuzumi gray. Tokiiro pink carries a soft, warm blush, while usuzumi gray introduces a calmer, more contemporary tone. The muted colors enhance the blossoms, lending them a fresh, delicate presence. Subtle detailing and varied glaze drips bring the design to life, from the pale yellow stamens to the pink tones layered across each petal. With its smooth finish, this piece carries an appeal that goes beyond the visual, drawing the hand almost instinctively.

Japanese cherry blossoms, or sakura, are an iconic symbol of the spring season. Blooming at first bud by bud, then all at once, they drape Japan’s parks and avenues with delicate clouds of white and pink. Ephemeral, the blossoms fall quickly, reminding us to be in the moment and appreciate each day. Their beauty is celebrated across Japanese art and adorns traditional crafts. Discover the tableware and decor that will bring these graceful flowers into your own home.
