Description

This special sake set includes a tokkuri (Japanese sake carafe) and sake cups that have a gorgeous and distinctive shape adorned with beautiful Kutani colors.

Pine, bamboo, and plums are painted on both cups and the carafe. When the pine, bamboo, and plum are combined in Japanese art, they become symbols of hope and good fortune. This is because the pine and bamboo withstand the cold of winter, and the plum blossom is the first to bloom in spring. In Japan, you will often see these three planted together and depicted in art and design for auspicious occasions.

It is perfect for celebrating a special occasion with your family and friends. Great for New Year's Day, birthdays, housewarmings, and other events.

It comes in an original wooden box, which makes it a perfect gift for sake lovers.

Ko-Kutani

Ko-Kutani is one of the oldest styles of Kutani ware, originating in the early Edo period (1603 CE–1868 CE). This style is known for its dynamic yet subtle charm, featuring bold designs in five colors—green, yellow, red, purple and dark blue—known as gosai. Ko-Kutani often depicts nature-inspired motifs like flowers, birds and landscapes. Despite its brief production period, ending in the early 1700s, ko-Kutani remains highly esteemed internationally as one of Japan's major overglaze enamel styles.
