Impression of using "BIRDY. Towel" for one month
Written by Takahashi Miho
As a buyer at MUSUBI KILN, I often test items to understand how they truly fit into daily life. I used the BIRDY. Towel series for one month at home, and I found that it made caring for my favorite tableware much easier and more comfortable.
There are many beautiful pieces made with traditional techniques and delicate materials like porcelain and glass, but some people may hesitate to use them every day because they require morecare and cannot go into the dishwasher. That is exactly where the BIRDY. Towel series feels reassuring.
Below, I share my impressions in detail. I hope they help you choose the right color and size for your home.

BIRDY. Kitchen Towel
Fast Drying
I use this towel for daily dish cleaning. After washing dishes in the morning, I hang it in the kitchen and it dries by evening, so it is comfortable to use again when I wash dishes after dinner.
After using it at night, I put it in the washing machine and hang it up to dry the next morning. You don’t need to put it in a laundry net.
One towel is enough for daytime use since everyone in my family is out of the house for work or school, but if you wash dishes during the day as well or if you have home parties or other occasions with many dishes, two to three towels may feel more convenient.
Size Recommendations
The S size handles dishes for four people comfortably and continues to absorb water well. After wiping, you can feel it grow heavier with the moisture it collects.
For larger pots and pans, though, the S size can feel a bit small. If you regularly wash many dishes or want something that works easily on cookware, the M size is a more dependable choice.
BIRDY. Polishing Cloth
I use this cloth every day to wipe the cooking area. With just one wipe, it quickly cleans up messes and leaves no watermarks, working very differently from ordinary kitchen wipes. I use it in the morning and at night, just like the kitchen towels, and it has never taken too long to dry.
Even with daily use, it hasn’t worn down or frayed.
Tips for Choosing Color
When I wiped dark cocoa powder or sauces, some color remained after machine washing. Soaking or rubbing with soap helped remove part of it.
If you are worried about staining, I recommend the dark gray. If you plan to use it mainly as a finishing wipe, the light gray is also suitable.
I also like that the modern, simple design fits naturally into the kitchen without disrupting its atmosphere.
BIRDY. Glass Towel
The thin, light fabric makes this towel very easy to use for glass surfaces. It is especially pleasant because it leaves no watermarks or dust at all.
Although I often use colored glass items and sometimes find a regular kitchen towel sufficient, this towel works beautifully for items that show marks easily, such as wine glasses.
It is very absorbent, and the M size was enough to wipe about six wine glasses.
Using these towels over the past month has shown me how small changes in the kitchen can feel surprisingly helpful. I hope my experience is useful as you choose the right items for your home.
