MUSUBI Kintsugi Repair Service
For a vessel that develops a new landscape, hand-in-hand with time.
We believe that a vessel’s story is not over just because it is broken.
The traces of repair become a unique part of a vessel’s character. That is the essence of kintsugi.
Continuing to use a vessel with care, rather than replacing it with something new, creates a relationship between owner and object. The craft of the region and the work of the maker who created the vessel are thus carried forward into the next era.

How the Repair Service Works
- Application: Send photos and information about your vessel via the estimate request form.
- Estimate: We provide an estimate based on your photos.
- Payment: After you agree to the estimate, the amount is due in full.
- Shipping: Pack your item following our guide and send it using the shipping label we issue. You will bear no round-trip shipping costs; that is covered by MUSUBI KILN.
- Repair: Your vessel is repaired at the workshop of a certified traditional artisan. The process takes approximately three months, with updates along the way.
- Return Shipping: After a final inspection, your vessel is carefully packed and returned to you.
Finish Options
- This service uses no synthetic adhesives. Gold, silver, platinum, lacquer, and colored lacquer (red/black) are all materials of natural origin, so your vessel can be safely used as tableware.
- However, the strength of the vessel will be lower than before the repair. Please handle it with care. After use, wash it gently by hand. It cannot be used in a microwave, oven, dishwasher, or over an open flame.

Before Using Our Service
- The estimate provided is final, and no additional charges will be added afterward. Your repair request is formally confirmed once you have agreed to the estimate and payment is complete. We are unable to accept cancellations or refunds after payment.
- Because kintsugi is handwork finished by layering lacquer one coat at a time, it usually takes approximately 3 months. The timing may differ depending on various circumstances, but we will report on progress during the repair period.
- As we are entrusted with a vessel precious to you, both MUSUBI KILN and the artisan workshop will handle it with the utmost care. In the unlikely event of an unforeseen problem—such as a shipping accident or a force majeure event like an earthquake—we will contact you again and respond in good faith.
