These chopsticks are decorated in gold with the akebono “dawn” motif. This word is also used to signify the beginning of a new era or when a new situation is about to unfold. The upper part is coated with urethane resin and the bottom part with lacquer and is dishwasher-safe.
These chopsticks have a beautiful glossy texture and their non-slip tips make it easier to grip food items, even slippery foods such as noodles.
Showcasing two colors—blue and red—and each in a different size, the chopsticks offer a modern design suitable for daily use or when entertaining guests. Presented in a paulownia wood box, they make a great gift and are perfect for personal enjoyment.

Origin
Wakasa lacquerware is one of the foremost production centers for lacquered chopsticks.
Wakasa lacquered chopsticks are traditional Japanese lacquered wood chopsticks from Obama City, Fukui Prefecture, with a history of about 400 years. It currently accounts for more than 80% of the national share of domestically produced lacquered chopsticks. They are characterized by their unique three-dimensional patterns created by applying layers of colored lacquer made from seashells and eggshells. It is sometimes called "jewel lacquering" because the pattern, which represents the ocean floor, has a noble glow.
