Based in the southern region of Ishikawa Prefecture, Kutani Ware has been manufacturing high-quality ceramic products for over 350 years. Kutani ware is characterized by its colorful overglaze called gosai (five-colored) and is painted with bold yet detailed designs with thick layers of paint to give the decorations a three-dimensional look.
