This stemmed sakazuki sake cup is defined by its slender silhouette and vermilion hue. The porcelain body feels light yet reassuring in the hand, and the delicate gold bands at the rim and foot provide a refined accent to the deep red.
The enveloping red is created using Zoho Kiln’s specially developed natural bengara pigment, prepared from a bengara material no longer in production and carefully preserved by the kiln. Over time, the color gently deepens, developing greater richness and character through continued use.
Ideal for warm or chilled sake, it pairs beautifully with the matching sake pot.

Maker / Brand
Zoho Kiln, located in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture, is a renowned producer of Mino ware. While their designs are inspired by seasonal flowers and traditional patterns, they also focus on the practical beauty of their pieces, ensuring ease of use and graceful presentation.
Zoho Kiln places particular importance on bengara, the distinctive red pigment used in their akae, or overglaze red enamel, designs. The rich red hue that adorns their pottery deepens in character and becomes even more beautiful with time and use, enhancing the aesthetic experience.

Sakazuki
We have curated a collection of exquisite sakazuki sake cups from all over Japan, designed to enrich the blissful experience of savoring your favorite sake. The term "sakazuki" refers to any sake cup, though it traditionally describes a flat, plate-like vessel, representing the oldest style. Holding the cup delicately with both hands—grasping its sides and bottom—embodies the essence of Japanese sake culture.
Sakazuki cups typically contain just a few sips, and the beautifully adorned ones are treasured by collectors for their aesthetic appeal. Using a stunning sakazuki for a special sake, a celebratory occasion, or when hosting guests, will create an unforgettable moment.

Red
