Morisa White Hemp Leaf Tosa Washi Paper Table Runner
This table runner is made of Tosa Washi Paper and is designed in a hemp leaf pattern. The unique feature of this item is that it comes in a roll of 3m(9.8ft) and can be custom cut to fit different table sizes.
The white hemp leaf pattern is made with a technique called "Rakusui." Rakusui is a traditional technique where washi is placed on a mold with patterns and then showered with water to create the distinctive designs on the washi.
The washi with the hemp leaf pattern is applied onto another layer of washi giving the table runner a double-layer structure. This technique of making double-layered paper is called "Sukiawase."
The table runner can be conveniently cut to a suitable length to fit any table or cupboard top. It can also be placed on cupboard shelves to protect the surface from scratches or to decorate the shelves. The washi rolls out smoothly without any wrinkles or tears and is strong and durable. It is a wonderful item that will add a touch of elegance to a table top.
Washi paper does not dissolve when washed and does not tear easily even if folded many times. This table runner can be used repeatedly by washing it lightly by hand and drying it. If you notice any wrinkling, iron on low heat and smooth out the wrinkles. When ironing, it is recommended to iron the back side of the table runner to maintain the texture of the washi.
