This simple and modern bowl features a beautiful turquoise color. The glaze's appearance varies uniquely with each piece according to the conditions during firing, resulting in a naturally exquisite shade of blue.
The 17.8 cm (7 in) size is perfect for smaller servings of salads, appetizers, aemono (seasoned dishes), or nimono (simmered dishes). Its shallow shape makes it less suitable for noodle soups such as ramen and udon.

Origin
Crafted in the Tono region of Gifu Prefecture, Mino ware is celebrated for its rich heritage and versatility within Japanese dinnerware.
A defining feature of Mino ware is its remarkable variety. Unlike many other Japanese pottery that adheres to a singular style, Mino ware boasts more than fifteen different styles, each with its unique charm developed over centuries. This region now accounts for over fifty percent of Japan's ceramic production, highlighting its unrivaled popularity.
In recognition of its cultural significance, Mino ware was designated as a traditional craft in 1978 by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (now the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry). Mino ware continues to enchant with its blend of historical depth and contemporary relevance, truly embodying a high standard of craftsmanship.

Medium Bowls
Medium-sized Japanese bowls are a highly versatile type of tableware. A great go-to for individual servings, they aren’t so big as to be overwhelming but are still large enough for main portions. Donburi dishes, nimono broth dishes, Western-style soups, cereal, and personal servings of salads will fit nicely in these bowls. They can also be used for serving sides or desserts. Our collection comes in a wide variety of patterns, colors, and shapes, making each piece not only convenient but also a stylish addition to your dining table.
This category includes bowls with diameters from 13–20.9 cm (5.1–8.2 in).
Turquoise
Turquoise tableware not only imparts a sense of coolness and tranquility with its shades of blue but also exudes the vibrancy and vitality, making it suitable for use in any season and adding a unique touch to the dining table.
In Japanese pottery, the turquoise color is achieved through a glaze known as toruko yu, literally translating to "Turkish glaze." The highly renowned Mino ware and Kutani ware always showcase this color in Japan.
