Light Fleur Medium Bowl
Estimated Shipping Widget will be displayed here!
This charming Tobe ware medium bowl features a beautiful flower in gentle light blue color.
The subtle color decorates the blooming flower painted on a white porcelain canvas. Small dots painted in gold are scattered, adding a discreet accent to the overall design. The detailed design of the rim adds to the floral motif of this kobachi bowl.
Higashi Kiln employs a unique technique called washi-zome. Colors and designs are added to the unglazed surfaces using Japanese washi paper. This technique adds a watercolor-like softness to the floral patterns which creates a pleasant atmosphere on a table.
The medium bowl has a diameter of 13.4 cm (5.3 in) and is perfect for serving small salads or cut fruit. The lower rim makes it an ideal bowl for children to eat yoghurt or oatmeal in the morning.

Maker / Brand
Higashi Kiln’s works are famous for their glass-like smoothness and use of soft and pastel colors that resemble watercolor paintings. This unique style utilizes the beauty of Tobe ware ceramics without being bound by its conventional frameworks.
The painting is performed by woman artist Ohigashi Alyne. Born in the Philippines, she has been creating beautiful, innovative Tobe ware at Higashi Kiln for over thirty years.

Crafts
Tobe ware is porcelain produced in the Tobe region of Ehime Prefecture, located in the northwest of Shikoku Island. The white porcelain, with its beautiful, slightly bluish hue from the iron content, continues to be highly valued and loved. Tobe ware maintains a strong respect for traditional handicraft techniques, even amidst modernization.
