This charming Tobe ware long plate features a bouquet of beautiful flowers in gentle hues of green and light blue.

Subtle colors decorate the blooming flowers painted on a white porcelain canvas. Small dots painted in gold are scattered, adding a discreet accent to the overall design.

Female artist Alyne Ohigashi who was born in the Philippines, uses a unique technique called "Washi-zome." Colors and designs are added to the unglazed surfaces using Japanese Washi paper. This technique adds a watercolor-like softness to the floral patterns which creates a pleasant atmosphere on a table.

This long plate is 32.3cm(12.7in) long and is ideal for serving salads, and cut fruit. Its length and slight depth also make it a great item to serve a main dish for a meal with family and friends.

Higashi Kiln's style is famous for their glass-like smoothness and the usage of the soft and pastel colors like watercolor paintings, which is not bound by conventional frameworks of Tobe ware. The painting is performed by female artist, Alyne Ohigashi, who was born in the Philippines and has been involved with creating Tobe ware items for more than 30 years at Higashi Kiln.
