A meeting of heritage and modern life, this cup and saucer brings the spirit of Arita porcelain gracefully to the contemporary table. Crafted by Gen-emon Kiln as a MUSUBI KILN original, this set reflects a shared commitment to enduring craftsmanship and thoughtful design.
Among the kiln’s many classical patterns, this set features a carefully composed design of pomegranates set within the traditional birds-and-flora motif. Somenishiki combines underglaze blue with hand-painted overglaze detailing, creating layered color and finely rendered imagery.
Since ancient times, the pomegranate has symbolized abundance and fertility, while birds have been regarded as bringers of good fortune. Together, they form an auspicious motif filled with meaning. The reverse side bears the logos of Gen-emon Kiln and MUSUBI KILN, marking this collaboration.
The teacup has a stylish inverted triangular silhouette, echoed by the triangular form of the handle. Gen-emon Kiln pieces are widely regarded for their sturdiness, allowing them to become part of everyday life for years to come.
Presented in a wooden box, this set is ideal as a meaningful gift and as a special piece to cherish. Graceful in presence yet suited to regular use, this cup and saucer lends a sense of occasion to tea or coffee, transforming ordinary moments into something quietly special.
