Description

This Tokusa Soba Choko Cup is crafted by Baizan Kiln and features a comfortable size that fits well in the hand, with a thick and warm design that enhances its charm.

The tokusa mitsumon pattern combines the traditional tokusa motif with three emblem-like accents. The tokusa pattern, composed of fine, straight lines, symbolizes purity and harmony and has long been cherished as an auspicious design. The addition of the red and light blue mitsumon brings a playful touch to its simplicity.

This cup is entirely handmade—from being shaped on the potter’s wheel to its exquisite hand-painted finish. No two pieces are exactly alike—please savor the unique beauty of each one. Additionally, a delicate red line along the inner rim subtly defines the cup's contours, adding a refined accent.

The thick Tobe ware ceramic is known for its durability and practicality, making it ideal for everyday use. While it serves as a soba choko, it is also versatile enough to be used as a small bowl or dessert cup, fitting seamlessly into various dining settings.

Soba Choko Cups

Soba choko cups are primarily designed to hold dipping broth accompanying soba, but they are also used for drinking tea and sake. Soba choko on the larger side are similar in size to yunomi cups, making them just right for casual tea drinking, while those on the smaller side are closer to guinomi cups, perfect for elegant sips of sake.

Regardless of how you use them, the versatility and charm of a soba choko make them a stylish and convenient addition to any table.
