Shirochibu 白粒

白 white · 粒 grain (raised dot)

Shirochibu is the white-dot variant of the aochibu technique, in which tiny raised white dots are arranged evenly across the surface with the icchin tool. Like aochibu it demands uniform size and spacing, and a gold variant (kinchibu) also exists.

Each white dot is painted by hand. The smaller and more numerous the dots are, the more skillful the artisan is.
