Description

Sakura blossoms open across the surface of this medium bowl, their forms spreading as if caught mid-motion. The design captures the vitality of sakura in full bloom, lending a quiet brightness to the setting.

The Blossoming Sakura Flower-Shaped Medium Bowl is crafted by Higashi Kiln, known for its distinctive washi-zome (Japanese paper dyeing) technique. The pink pigment diffuses gently, forming blurred edges that bring depth to the cherry blossom motif. The rim is shaped in the likeness of a cherry blossom, echoing the motif with a soft, rounded line. Delicate gold detailing at the stamens introduces a note of richness to the composition.

The layered bleeding of pigment produces tonal variation reminiscent of watercolor, offering depth that remains clearly defined without appearing heavy.

This cherry blossom pattern is a collaborative design by MUSUBI KILN and Higashi Kiln. Even a single bowl can shift the mood of a table, making it especially suited to seasonal settings. Whether paired with Japanese or Western tableware, it settles naturally into its surroundings, offering a presence that feels both light and composed.
