Estimated Shipping Widget will be displayed here!
This exquisite ceramic Japanese teapot features a soft, nature-inspired light green base color. Artisans use underglaze painting, applying intricate colors before glazing, to depict yaezakura "double-flowered cherry blossoms," hydrangeas, sunflowers, lilies, and camellias on the surface and lid.
The inner side of the lid and the inside of the teapot are adorned with artistic white brushstrokes, adding a unique and refined touch that highlights the craftsmanship of this piece. The cylindrical handle is curved and rests perfectly on your fingers, as you feel the cool and smooth texture of porcelain. Lightly press the lid when pouring to keep it securely in place.
This teapot makes your tea-drinking experience more elegant and relaxing, as you enjoy the shine of porcelain and the charming floral paintings.

Maker / Brand
Founded in 1922, Touan is one of Kyoto's distinguished kilns specializing in Kyo ware and Kiyomizu ware. As one of the largest workshops in Kyoto, all stages of production are meticulously carried out by hand. Touan is dedicated to crafting exquisite, seasonally inspired designs, employing underglaze painting, where intricate colors are applied before glazing. This process ensures that each creation retains its delicate hues and is resistant to wear, embodying both beauty and durability.

Crafts
Kyo ware and Kiyomizu ware, collectively known as Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki, are celebrated pottery styles from Kyoto. Known for their vibrant designs, finely sculpted forms, and dedication to handcrafted detail, these wares reflect Kyoto’s distinctive sense of beauty and artistic refinement.
Defined by a long-cultivated diversity, Kyo ware and Kiyomizu ware have drawn on techniques and styles from pottery traditions across Japan, evolving into a richly expressive and distinctly Kyoto art form. Recognized as a Traditional Craft of Japan in 1977, they continue to be cherished for their cultural depth and everyday appeal.
