Japanese Soup Bowls

Soup is a staple of Japanese cuisine, especially in the tradition of ichiju-sansai, or “one soup, three dishes,” which is the foundation of a Japanese meal. The light, nutritious broth of clear soups and the umami richness of miso aid in digestion and give a meal a sense of warmth. Our collection of Japanese soup bowls ranges in materials from wood to porcelain, so you can curate the precise atmosphere you desire for your table.

Japanese soup bowls are sized to nestle comfortably in one’s hand, and can either be sipped from or used with chopsticks or spoons.
