This is an ikebana flower vase made of aluminum, crafted using the traditional technique of Takaoka copperware. The upper side is in a silver-gray color adorned with harmonious ripple-shaped decorations, evoking the ambiance of a Japanese garden. The sides finished in a textured matte black achieve a striking contrast.
This vase includes a kenzan, a metallic flower frog to set flowers and greenery. Even those new to ikebana will be able to create artistic floral arrangements by fixing blooms onto the needles of the small-sized kenzan.
Each piece is handmade using the sand casting technique where metallic bases are made by pouring hot metal into hardened sand molds. This traditional manufacturing method has been handed down in Takaoka City for over 400 years.
