Description

This original ramen bowl by MUSUBI KILN features a generous capacity of 1,400 ml (47.4 fl oz), specially designed for hearty, satisfying servings of ramen. A translucent deep-green glaze is layered over a matte black base, revealing fine kannyu (a delicate crackle pattern) for a quiet sense of luxury. Each bowl is hand-glazed by artisans, resulting in subtle variations that make every piece unique. Two workshops combined their expertise to achieve its distinctive size and finish.

Its sculptural form and thoughtful proportions give the bowl an immediate presence on the table. The wide, open rim frames toppings, making it just as practical and comfortable to use as it is visually striking.

The green and black color scheme is especially well-suited to pale or creamy soups like tonkotsu ramen and milk-based stocks. These stand out vividly against the dark backdrop for a bold and elevated look.

Presented in a thoughtfully designed light gray box, this bowl feels refined from the moment you receive it—ideal for everyday use, and just as fitting as a gift for someone special.

Ramen Bowls

Ramen bowls, unlike other Japanese tableware, are not meant to be lifted while eating. They are often crafted from heavier ceramics and feature simple, neutral colors that complement any type of ramen. While the donburi bowl is versatile and used for a variety of Japanese dishes, the ramen bowl is a noodle bowl with a character of its own, deeper and sturdier to hold hot broth and generous toppings.

If you're planning to make ramen at home, we highly recommend adding one to your kitchen. Even a basic serving topped with chopped green onions, boiled eggs, and nori (seaweed) can be elevated to an authentic ramen experience, just like what you’d enjoy at a Japanese restaurant.
