Inspired by the graceful form of the chrysanthemum, this donabe rice cooker is crafted using the traditional kohiki technique. A layer of white clay—known as shirogesho—is applied over the base clay before glazing and firing. The result is a subtly white vessel adorned with delicate patterns and nuanced hues that not only highlight your culinary creations but also exude a relaxed, inviting charm.
Anyone can easily make delicious rice in just thirty minutes with this donabe rice cooker. The size is suitable to cook up to 750 g (26.5 oz): five rice cooker cups (5 gou). A gou is a rice cooker cup, and one gou is equivalent to 150 g (5.3 oz). The amount of water used will be 1.1 to 1.2 times the amount of rice.
The double-lid design helps prevent spills, and with the simple step—“turn off the heat when you see steam”—anyone can enjoy freshly cooked, delicious rice with ease.
This stylish design is perfect for entertaining—place it directly on the table and serve hot rice with flair. It’s also well-suited for stewed dishes like oden, hearty soups, and slow-cooked meals. Ingredients stay intact while absorbing rich, flavorful broth, bringing out even more umami.
