Suruga Bamboo Basketry is renowned for its exceptional delicacy in bamboo crafts, artfully assembled using thin, round bamboo strips. Elevating the artistry even further, a single craftsperson meticulously arranges these bamboo strips, one by one. Suruga Bamboo Basketry is a traditional bamboo craft with a history of over 400 years, made in the area around Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture. It was designated a national traditional craft in 1976.
