Nishiki Sakura Mino Ware Donburi Bowl M
This regular-sized Japanese donburi rice bowl features sakura, or cherry blossoms, framed by dark blue, lattice-like patterns, all rendered in the traditional nishiki-e style. Nishiki-e, meaning "brocade picture," is a multi-colored woodblock print technique that revolutionized ukiyo-e during the Edo period (1603 CE–1868 CE), when most prints were in black and white.
The bowl is perfect for a variety of donburi dishes, such as gyudon, oyakodon, and for noodle dishes like udon or soba. It may be slightly small for ramen if you wish to add different toppings.
Mino ware boasts a remarkable variety of styles and is celebrated for its rich traditional heritage, while also excelling in the production of contemporary pottery. It is widely distributed in Japan, yet retains a very high quality, which makes it a wonderful choice for daily use.
