The desire to create the ultimate chopsticks for ramen was the starting point for this pair.
With over sixty years of experience specializing in bamboo chopsticks, Yamachiku, a family-run maker in Kumamoto Prefecture, was consulted on the development. Over approximately one year, the shape and texture were refined to create chopsticks that feel comfortable in the hand and provide a secure grip on slippery noodles.
Thick yet light, the bamboo gives the chopsticks a substantial feel without making them heavy to hold. Their generous 24 cm (9.4 in) length makes them especially suited to lifting noodles and other hearty ingredients. The result is a pair that reflects Yamachiku’s deep knowledge of bamboo chopsticks.
The tips are finished with dry lacquer, creating a lightly textured surface that helps grip noodles while adding strength and durability. The handles are carved with a tortoiseshell pattern for added texture, while a transparent coating allows the natural grain of the bamboo to show through.
With this pair, even a bowl of ramen made at home can become a little more special. Imagine boiling noodles on a leisurely day off, serving them in your favorite bowl, and savoring every last strand with these chopsticks. Enjoy the simple pleasure of taking the time to savor a bowl of ramen.

Bamboo has been actively planted throughout Japan for centuries. Flexible, strong, and versatile, bamboo is an indispensable part of Japanese culture and daily life.
The plant plays a crucial role in Japanese tableware, used as the base material for chopsticks, tea ceremony tools, and lightweight, portable items like baskets and bento boxes.
Young bamboo can match the height of mature bamboo in just three months, and completes its growth in just three years, making it a permanently replenishing natural resource.
